Traditional monograms have the last name initial larger and in the center. They are found at the top of this chart in styles J34, J25, J38, C62, C63, C64, C65 and C61.

Running monograms have all initials the same size and the last name last. If a running monogram has a suffix (Jr, IV, etc), the suffix will be slightly shorter in height.

For baby spoons with three initials, dropped monograms like J33 are best. For boys, dropped J19 initials are most popular. Dropped monograms are ordered the same as running monograms, with all initials the same size and the last name last.
